Five aspects of transformation and upgrading of the textile industryPosted on:2023-07-13 Browse:1473 Source: Suzhou Lan

"At present, China's textile industry has encountered many difficulties, which have both objective factors and subjective factors, but it is not pessimistic and hopeless, and there is still a big way out and a big achievement through transformation and upgrading." A few days ago, textile materials experts and textile educators, Xi 'an Engineering University honorary president Yao Mu visited Xi 'an Engineering University Shishi Research Institute, and the city's textile and apparel enterprises to carry out a discussion, the development of the problem of enterprises. Academician Yao pointed out that the textile industry is never a sunset industry, and there are still unlimited prospects after transformation and upgrading.

The cost advantage is no longer in the future market at the high end

In the past half century, the textile industry in China is not only a traditional industry, but also an advantageous industry, which has made great contributions to the national economy.

In recent years, the domestic and foreign economic situation has changed greatly, especially our country's economic situation, is going through a special period. Among them, due to the continued downturn in international market demand, the domestic market comprehensive factor costs rose faster and other factors, China's textile industry growth continued to slow down the overall trend.

Statistics show that since the second quarter of 2015, China's textile and apparel exports have shown a continued negative growth trend, and the decline in the third quarter has deepened, and the total export volume fell by 4.5% from January to August, and exports showed a downward trend in volume and price. From January to August, export prices fell 1.3 percent year on year, while export volume fell 3.2 percent.

As the world's textile power, China's entire textile industry has entered the new normal of the economy, which is not only affected by global economic factors, but also caused by their own high costs. In recent years, the cost of manufacturing in China has risen significantly, not only higher than Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and other regions, and even reached about 95% of the cost of manufacturing in the United States.

For now, China's textile industry faces four high costs. Top of the list is labor costs. At present, the labor cost of China's textile industry can be described as one of the highest countries in the world, with labor costs 8 times higher than India and 10 times higher than Bangladesh. The next are energy costs, transportation costs and environmental governance costs

"Under the constraints of various factors, considering the current situation and trend of the development of the textile industry, in the field of clothing and household, we must gradually abandon the production of low-grade products, transfer to Southeast Asia and other countries and regions, and turn to the development of high-end products." Yao Mu said a turn, although the low-end product market is slowly shrinking, but from the export data, high-end products have risen. That is to say, the next must take the high-end development route, the low-end market has no way out.

Transformation and upgrading need to grasp five key words

In recent years, China's textile industry due to labor costs, energy costs, transportation costs, environmental governance costs are very high, the cost advantage of low-grade textile processing has been completely lost, the United Kingdom, the United States of America's "re-industrialization" strategy, so that China's textile industry pressure increased.

At the same time, the textile industry is also facing the constraints of raw materials, the United Nations forecast for the global population in 2050 is constantly changing, the data released in 2000 was 7.6 billion, and by June 2013, the figure increased to 9.6 billion, and recently, some people proposed that it will reach 10 billion people. Therefore, the increase in population and the shortage of cultivated land have become a problem in front of people, and the cultivation of natural fibers is difficult to guarantee.

With regard to the reality of the current industry suffering from "double oppression", Yao Mu pointed out that "innovation-driven, quality-first, green development, and structural optimization" are the development routes, guiding ideology and important measures for the transformation and upgrading of China's textile industry and its transformation and upgrading from large to strong. The textile industry should adhere to the principle of "multi-variety, small batch, fast delivery", and try to use high-performance fibers, new functional fibers, multi-fiber blending and interweaving to produce multi-functional new varieties; Pay attention to the extension of the industrial chain of the textile industry, including textile fiber varieties, specifications, primary processing and performance and chemical fiber raw materials, textile accessories, accessories, etc.

All products are adapted to market needs. In Yao Mu's view, the current Chinese textile industry has entered a new normal, the new environment, the new situation, the textile industry in the transformation and upgrading of the road, to focus on the "high, new, special, fine, excellent" these five aspects of efforts to create their own and have absolute competitiveness of the "fist" products.

In other words, it has been very difficult to surpass the competition with low costs and economies of scale in the past, but now the personalized, hierarchical needs are increasing, which also makes our products to adapt to different customer needs. To this end, the product should have high performance, new functions, for the special needs of special people, to develop fine, exquisite, exquisite and excellent quality of special products.
